Requirements for applicants:
When contacting Northwest Bible Training Center for assistance, it is important that the individual who is seeking help contact the Senior Counselor. There is an application, as well as other necessary paperwork, and an interview required. Health screening is also necessary. In the event that the NWBTC is not in the best interest of an applicant, a referral will be made to another Mission Teens program that will offer the most effective and appropriate services to the applicant.
The requirements for admission into the program are as follows:
• All applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Applicants must call the Center and talk with the Overseer personally. Your parent, wife, husband, etc. cannot call for you.
• If you live within 25 miles of the Portland Center you must apply in person. If there are special circumstances a telephone call may suffice. This is determined by the Overseer at NWBTC.
• Prior approval is needed for medication. NO narcotics, psychotropic or antidepressant drugs will be allowed.
• Medical, dental and legal problems should be disposed of before entering NWBTC.
• We are open to both men and women. There are separate houses for each; although they come together for meals, classes and program activities. We discourage coed relationships while at NWBTC.
• HIV, VDRL, Hepatitis (A, B, C) blood tests are required along with a TB test. A pregnancy test for women is also required.
• A return home travel ticket or money of equal value is required upon entrance to NWBTC.
Should you wish to find out more about the curriculum, or apply for entrance, please call the NWBTC Overseer at 503-289-3271 or the Counselor on Duty for the day, 503-289-7758. You may also request more information here or sign up now online.
