Since 2004 Rev. Gary Cumens and his wife Mary Ann have been the Asst. Executive Directors of Northwest Bible Training Center. Prior to coming to Mission Teens Gary Cumens held a variety of positions in the community. Some of Gary’s prior posts have included, serving in the United States Air Force, Director of Lighthouse Ministries, Pennsylvania and Director of FIG Tree Ministries, Pennsylvania.
Mary Cumens has served in a variety of positions with faith based and secular treatment programs. She has a background in secondary education, divinity, and addictions.
They have 3 grown children, Kaisha, Melissa, and Drew; and 4 grandchildren, Allie, Danny and Bailey and Noah. Their children and parents live in Pennsylvania and they visit often. Living with Gary and Mary Ann in Portland is "Winston Churchill" a 11 lb. toy poodle that adds much joy to their lives and the Residents and Staff at Northwest Bible Training Center.
Rev. Gary and Mary Ann are each certified as Christian Drug and Alcohol Counselors. They have a diverse combination of learning and training and combined the Institutes of Higher Learning they have attended include; University of Miami, Oral Roberts University, University of Scranton, York University and Christian Alcohol and Drug Institute. Both Rev. Gary and Mary Ann maintain continuing education to stay current in the Christian Ministry field and the Drug and Alcohol Field.
Together the Cumens’ bring with them over 25 years in Christian ministry, and 40 years of experience in the substance abuse and mental health disorder fields. They are speakers at many community events, church meetings, workshops and seminars.
